I went with Jackie and her family to the Mesa Art Center. She was nice enough to let me “practice” on her family. We had way too much fun!! Here are some of the photos….I’m still having way too much fun editing them…but I really need to stop myself. Sometimes I think I may be getting too carried away!!
Anyway, I like the actions I was able to find for the feet. I still had to tweek it a little bit afterwards, but it turned out just like I wanted!!
It was totally crazy! We went there on Tues. night (May 25th) and there was a graduation that was finishing up…so there were tons of people. We had quite a time trying to get shots without the crowd in the background!!
And here I thought a Tuesday would be slow….

I did a photo shoot with some of my friends. They wanted some pictures of themselves, so we went to my backyard and just had a little bit of fun.

Then when I downloaded the photos – I had a blast editing and adding various effects.
So, here are a few samples of what we did:
Then of course they thought it appropriate to take a few photos of me. It’s different – being on the other side of the camera….I don’t always like the way my photos turn out – not because I don’t think I’m pretty or I think I could lose weight…It’s just that I don’t look the way I imagine in my head. So, in my mind, I think that somehow the camera messed up – because I look different when I look at myself in the mirror….And obviously I’m correct in the way I see myself.
Anyway, that being said – I’m not one to be too caught up in the way I look. These photos of myself turned out okay.

The Open House for the Gila Valley Temple was amazing. My kids were so impressed with how beautiful everything was. And the way they felt while in the Temple, it was very special. They also enjoyed being able to go through and see everything.
Every room in the Temple was so amazing! I don’t know which one I liked the most…I loved the mural in the first instruction room – but the Celestial room was so amazing too. It’s just so hard to choose a favorite. I really liked the light sconce in the Bride’s room (actually in the bathroom)…It looked like a Princess Tiara…
Of course I brought my camera. I love the pictures we took there. Especially the series of Chris with all the kids. Lily was more interested in Sam’s glasses – and I had the camera on continuous shutter…these are just a bunch of priceless shots!

It was a long drive with 5 kids. The drive home wasn’t fun at all. Crying kids most of the way – and then crankiness with everyone else. Sometimes, with everyone in such close proximity – I just need to remember to relax and know it will be over soon.   Even with the long day (there and back in one day) it was totally worth it!!

So, Chris wants to sign Sam up for Soccer next fall. The invitation paperwork said that if this was his first year then there is an evaluation. I interpreted this as “try-outs”….so when we got there and he was the only kid on the field. I wondered a little bit.
They had him dribble, shoot, and do different “soccer” things – I guess I’ll have to learn the terminology now. Then the lady asked me if I had my paperwork…”What paperwork?” Apparently I was supposed to go in the school first and fill out all the stuff THEN go for the evaluation….yeah well….
Sam did a great job – here are some photos. I was able to use these for my last project too. (two birds, one camera) I had some fun with the color saturation….and the order that I put them in makes it look like maybe he’s disappointed at the end and walking off….but that was just effect for the class. He had a blast!
Chris signed up to be an assistant coach…this should be a fun fall semester! I can’t believe that I’m planning stuff for the next school year – summer isn’t even here yet!

Speaking of planning….We signed Katie and Caroline up for Swim Team and Sam and Emily for Swim Lessons. This will be a busy summer!

scrappiemom - Sounds like your summer is going to fly by! Too soon, school will be starting again. Love the pics.ReplyCancel

Because Valentine’s Day is on a Sunday that means the kids get to give Valentine cards to their friends tomorrow (which is Friday). Because I like to put things off till the very end, means we make Valentine cards right before bed. Today I bought enough pencils for every kid in every class, three bags of Hershey kisses, some green tape and red cellophane paper (it was Basket Paper, 40% off at Hobby Lobby today). We turned the Hershey kisses into pencil roses… I guess I went a little overboard. (Chris thinks I should have opted for the store-bought-fold-in-half-action-figure/princess Valentines….But I am a Valentine Over-Achiever) So even though we made them last-minute I’m still the best mom ever!
