I love Sundays!

I’m sure I’ve expressed this sentiment before. But I just wanted to make sure the whole world knows.

Sunday is my Family Day

Sunday is my day to relax

I don’t answer my phone on Sunday

I don’t return emails on Sunday

A perfect Sunday would include a nap – usually with my 3 year old.

I choose to schedule my family as my priority and therefore I’m unavailable to work (I don’t feel bad about this in the least)

Today was one of those wonderful Sundays….Next week is looking to be that way as well. 🙂

More often then not, I’m seeing cute shoes underneath these beautiful wedding dresses.
Gone are the days of white shoes, heels that pinch or boring flats.
Now we’re seeing cute colors. Comfortable Toes. And Sassy Heels.
I finding that doing what you want on your wedding day is becoming more and more popular. It is your day. You should be able to have it however you want.
Past generations may express expectation of what they think your wedding day should be. It’s okay to listen to what they have to say. It’s also okay to gently remind them that it’s your day. You appreciate their input. But then go ahead and do what you want.
So – what type of shoes are you wearing on your wedding day? Do you feel like breaking tradition – stepping outside the lines and doing whatever you want? Do you love flip flops? Do you LOVE red or blue or purple shoes??

One quick reminder: Break in your shoes! They may be new – and even new shoes need a little wearing to be really comfortable. Wear them around the house in the evenings before your wedding day…you’ll thank me later 🙂

I’m sorry to report that our position for a budding photographer has been filled….Thank you everyone for applying. It was a really tough choice. We went through so many resumes and portfolios.
Eventually we just had to go with Emily.
She showed initiative, ingenuity, and she’s not afraid of trying something new.
Plus…we’re really liking the photos with fingers and thumbs in them 🙂
It’ll probably be about 10 years before she get her hands on one of my camera…but it can’t hurt to start them off young!!

It’s time for Valentine Roses Again…Although this year I’m this doing several days before and not the night before!
I totally jumped on the “Best Mom Ever” wagon and we made these rose valentines again. Instead of just the finished product…I decided to give you a storyboard and instructions. (I know, you totally love me now)
Here’s what you’ll need:
Hershey kisses
Clear Tape
Get some green construction paper
Green tape (I think it’s called Frog Tape at Home Depot)
You’ll need a bunch of pencils
Wrapping paper that is clear with a design on it.
How to put them together and become Super Mom:
Tape the bottom of the Hershey Kisses together
Cut the green construction paper into leaf shapes (now is a good time to address the leaves)
Cut squares of the wrapping paper – about 4 x 4 inches…I just eye-balled it
Wrap the taped Kisses in the wrapping paper….I placed the tip in the middle, folded two corners down, then wrapped the other corners around until it looked good and there wasn’t anything loose.
Place the pencil near the end of the Kiss and wrap it in with the wrapping paper.
Place the leaf near the Kiss
Tape it all together…round and round…with the green tape. (it takes a little bit of practice…but then you’re a total Pro)
Ta-Da!
Chocolate Rose Valentines…
You’re kids will be the favorite in their classroom…and you’ll be the best mom ever
Welcome to the club 🙂

I was near down town Mesa today at noon. As I was walking to my car I heard some Church Bells ringing…
I suddenly remembered how much I enjoy hearing Church Bells!!
Not necessarily from a church tower – I just love hearing them on the hour, even every 15 minutes…I love knowing what time it is by simply listening to the air.
When I was growing up in Silver City NM – we lived near the University (about 5 houses down from the University) – That campus was our playground. We went there all the time, had year round swimming passes (it was an indoor pool…awesome to swim when there is snow outside), and I remember waking up to the sound of the bell tower.
It’s been a long time since I’ve heard a bell tower at noon…
It was a wonderful feeling
A back in time moment in the middle of my busy day
Today was a good day 🙂
I didn’t have my camera today (Dang!)…and I wasn’t even close enough to know where the bells were coming from exactly. But here is a photo I found online…it is from a school in Illinois….But this is how I picture my bells in Silver City New Mexico….
