Yeah – blogging is one of those things that you’re never really satisfied with….Someone should stop me!

I am changing this blog over to WordPress….I’m hoping to get it all done this weekend…It may mean that my site will be down temporarily while I try and figure this all out….

WordPress offers more flexibility with the way I want the blog to look. Also – I’m finding more and more professionals using wordpress…So, yeah, I’m making the change.

You’ll notice some differences – but overall there will be a whole bunch of nifty stuff added to the site. So sit back, relax (cause I’m doing all the work), and let me know what you think once I’m done.

Chao!

So I posted yesterdays post on my family blog (lots more photos of my kids and stuff) and a few friends posted their proposal stories. I thought they were so cute!! I wanted to share them with you’all.
Plus, after meeting with a potential client this evening, I realized,  more often then not “The Proposal” is usually corny, normal, or otherwise typical. But it never seems to matter because we love them so much!

Bry and I had been dating for a month and we were sitting on his couch kissing and I asked him for a drink of water… When he came back he started telling me how much he loved me and didn’t want to spend another day without me and he wanted me to be the mother of his children… I said yes, we kissed more and then went to Uno’s for dinner! It wasn’t the most romantic, but it was perfect for us!

I didn’t know or even suspect that Andrew was going to propose. We went out on a “dressy date” and so every time he would get serious I would break the mood with a joke. I know, shocking! LOL he grabbed both of my hands across the table and he said he needed to ask me a serious question…. My response? Yes Andrew you can borrow my car. He just laughed and then he said he was really going to ask me if I liked Crunchy or Creamy Peanut Butter. After a 10 minute discussion about peanut butter we went for a walk where he asked me to be his eternal companion. I was floored but as they say….The rest is history!

It’s interesting to drive around the corner, up your street and see this a little ways down…
(Yes that is a wire about 20 feet above the ground stretched across the street)
Yesterday it was just a red sign – “Michelle Will You Marry Me?”
Today the blue words “Yes” were added….
It was so cute!
“Michelle is getting married!” (imagine me singing this last line…I’m an okay singer)
The whole neighborhood knows that Michelle said yes.
(I need to meet more of my neighbors…because I honestly don’t know who she is)
I think unique proposals are so fun. When your “Man” puts a lot of thought, creativity, and effort into a proposal – it makes you feel like he really cares about you.
However, on the opposite side:
I was proposed to while sitting in the house. The rest of his family getting ready for dinner. And when I said yes and he was putting the ring on my finger…he dropped it and it rolled all the way over to the floor vent….it stopped right before falling down the vent shaft. (luckily)
Now – it wasn’t necessarily super romantic.
It wasn’t creative and unique.
But it was memorable.
My point is that every proposal is memorable.
And even thought we may want the creative and unique – I’m happy with just getting to marry the man of my dreams…
PS – He’s made up for the proposal during gift giving time…he is wonderful when it comes to thoughtful and meaningful gifts.

Katie is doing so well with the camera lately. She took these images on Sunday out in the backyard. I love her depth of field and angles.

It’s so much fun to sit and talk with her about aperture, shutter speed and “blurriness” (aka depth of field). She loves getting out with the camera (I have a D70 she’s been practicing with)

It will be fun to see if this turns into something she enjoys as much as I do 🙂

Here are some of the shots I loved the most:

It’s Valentines Day.

Roses, Chocolates and Candy Hearts…none of those are on my list this year.

I’m going with simplicity (since I already ordered my Kelly Moore bag-Yay!)

I want dinner from Outback Steak House – To go.
A Movie from RedBox of Blockbuster.
And cuddling on the couch.

(Or playing games together)
This is one of my favorite games lately.

Chris and I will whip this out and play it once the kids are in bed.

It’s called the Catan Card Game. A two player version of Settlers of Catan.

I think the reason I love it is cause I can win sometimes….Although I feel like he wins more often than I do (He says I win more…so it must be fairly even)

I think Valentine’s day is best spent with the least amount of stress + the person you love the most.

How are you spending your Valentine’s Day??
