Tiffany and Joel met while hiking with friends on an epic journey to Havasupai (the bottom of the Grand Canyon). They are literally the perfect couple…remember the whole “You complete me.” in Jerry McGuire? Yep, that’s totally how it is with this amazing couple. Joel is head over heels for Tiffany and he is her whole world. It was so obvious when we were shooting their engagement session…these two were made for each other.

I had so much fun with them on Saturday – Although, now it’s going to be difficult because I have to wait for their wedding day (because obviously the wedding images are going to be just as amazing as these here).

I hate waiting…..

But at least I get to enjoy their stunning photos while I wait.

I hope you love them as much as I do!

Five Steps to Find the Wedding Gown of your Dreams

Finding your Wedding Dress in Phoenix doesn’t need to be difficult. I’ve compiled 5 steps to make it easy, fun and memorable.

1)      Start looking online –Wedding Blogs, Wedding magazine websites, there are so many places to start!. (we like Arizona Weddings Magazine…) Pinterest!! This fabulous website allows you to “pin” photos and favorites all in one place – it’s by invitation only…so have a friend send you an invite – or email me, I’ll invite you ASAP! Jill(at)JillLaurenPhotography(dot)com. Also, take a look at my ideas on Pinterest – Jill’s Wedding Board

2)      Snip and cut – Go buy Arizona Weddings Magazine, Phoenix Bride and Groom, and one more wedding magazine. Trust me, the ideas and inspiration in these publications are worth their weight in gold. While looking through your wedding magazines – if you find something you like, then cut it out! If you only like the skirt or train…then circle it! Snip and cut what you want and then keep your eye out for something similar

3)      Take all your ideas, images and inspiration to a Phoenix Wedding Dress shop or bridal boutique, or skip to number 4 below (you may want to call ahead to set an appointment). Tell the bridal consultant what you have in mind and show her what you’ve accumulated. Then prepare to try on dresses. This is the fun part – Bring your mom, maid of honor, sisters, friends…make it a girls day out. (That being said, don’t bring anyone who is going to be a downer…you don’t want pessimistic opinions. Only good ideas) Listen to your mom, maid of honor and friends – but then make your own decision.

4)      Also go to a Bridal re-sale shop or Gown consignment. You can find some amazing dresses that need a bride (truly amazing and beautiful).  (See this blog post – each of these dresses is from http://almondtreeweddings.com – Call them for your appointment (602) 606-9565). I believe the stigma of having a previously owned wedding gown is changing. Who cares if someone else wore it first – it was probably meant for you originally, you just found it in a round-about way.

5)      Once you do find the gown of your dreams. STOP LOOKING! I know, it’s fun to keep shopping, clipping, pinning…but really try and stop. You’ll only drive yourself crazy, change your mind or possibly end up disappointed. Honestly, if you find the perfect dress – then get it. If it’s not THE ONE, then keep looking. Your dream dress is out there – you’ll find it! Oh, and when you do find it – I’d love to be there to document how amazing you look (yes, that was a shameless plug)

Did any of these 5 tips for finding your wedding dress in phoenix helped you? Do you have any other suggestions for brides?

Stephanie and Art are such an amazing couple. They met at a concert at ASU. He asked her to be his girlfriend in the same courtyard…yeah – it was super romantic to be there again to take their engagement photos. Arizona State University is a FABULOUS location for photos!! We had way too much fun. (I think she looks a little bit like Kristen Stewart, Steph said she gets that alot)

After ASU – we headed down Mill Ave and then ended at the Tempe Art Center. Awesome photo session + awesome couple = awesome images. I am just thrilled with this engagement session. I can’t wait for their wedding day!

This one is my favorite – I LOVE the columns!

Emily and Aaron met online. (Which by the way I totally think is awesome and amazing!) And although it ‘nearly’ didn’t happen…(she missed his reply email and thought he wasn’t interested…he replied and never heard back from her.) It was a last ditch email from Aaron asking what was up that finally got them talking, dating, falling in love and now happily and madly engaged to be married. (Can someone be “madly engaged??  hmmmm…I wonder)

Engagement sessions are a great time to be romantic. Public displays of affection are what we really love to photograph – it was OH SO EASY with these two. They are just perfect together. I can’t even imagine how they ever managed to function in this world without each other – they just complete one another so well. (“You Complete Me”…yeah, it’s totally like that – except without the dramatic breakup scene) With a fabulous Las Vegas wedding planned (which is sure to be just as romantic and amazing as earlier this week) Emily and Aaron are definitely starting their life together with love and happiness.

+ (plus) Alma – their way cool dog?? Yeah…it was a great day!

(Added 1-17-12) Thank you Aaron for this fabulous testimonial!!
“Also, thank you so much for the fantastic shoot.  I can’t explain how great it was and how happy we are with the resulting images.  I know a certain bride-to-be that went through our photos for over 2 hours yesterday picking out her favorites.  Yeah, her 42 favorite photos. Out of 66.”

This photoshoot was simply amazing! I was thrilled to work with such amazing talent! The photos really speak for themselves…I may have gotten carried away. It was like Christmas for me…snap snap snap..ALL great images. Choosing which ones to put on the blog was REALLY hard for me.

I honestly can say that if you need hair, makeup, dress, veil, anything you see here – any of the ladies listed below will be amazing. You can’t go wrong if they’re involved with your wedding day.

BIG thank you to the fabulous team!
