Saturday June 4th 2011 – Prescott Arizona {Perfect day for a Perfect Wedding}

Lisa and Jesus are two best friends in love. I was thrilled to be there to capture each little moment of their amazing day. After a beautiful ceremony at St. Germaine Catholic Church the reception was locateded at the Prescott Resort and Conference Center. We were able to go out to Watson Lake for some amazing photos! Brian with AZeventVIDEO was there – I enjoyed working closely with him and can’t wait to see his finished wedding video! Chris was 2nd shooting with me (which made my day perfect). He has such a good eye – I loved going through all the photos to find hidden treasures pop up that I didn’t even realize were taken. Several of the below shots are from Chris.

My new goal for Weddings? Posting the photos on the blog by Wednesday after the wedding! Next will be the album layout goal = done by Friday after the wedding….I love a challenge!

Thank you Lisa and Jesus – Being with you all day made me realize why I cherish my marriage so much. It made me remember why I wanted to (and did) marry my best friend. Being reminded of this just makes me grateful for the blessings and talents that I have. I couldn’t do this alone.

I just found this great article and wanted to share. By Anthony Bridal out of Alabama.

Enjoy!

Buying a wedding dress can be the most fun, or the most stressful part of planning your wedding. You can help make sure your wedding dress experience is an enjoyable one if you remember just a few tips.

Before you start shopping for your perfect wedding dress, take a look in magazines and online to fine styles you like. That way, when you walk into a bridal shop, you will have an idea of what you are looking for. It will also help you avoid trying on 100 dresses.

Keep in mind that some dresses take up to six months to make, and you’ll need an extra few weeks for alterations or other issues that could come up once the dress arrives at the bridal shop. So, it’s a good idea to order your dress about seven months before your wedding.

When choosing a dress, think about the time of  year you are getting married. If the wedding is going to be outside during the summer months, you won’t want to wear a wedding dress with long sleeves that will have you sweating through the entire ceremony.

There are  five basic wedding dress styles you can choose from.

  1. A-Line dress– fitted in the body, then flows out toward the ground.
  2. Ball gown– fitted in the body with a full skirt.
  3. Mermaid dress-contours the body from the chest to knee, then flows to hem.
  4. Sheath dress– fits straight and is form-fitted from the shoulders to the hem.
  5. Empire cut– raised waist line, sits below the bust, then flows down to the hem.

You’ll probably want to look for a dress that fits your body type. A sheath dress, which hugs every curve, would flatter a thinner woman. A ball gown, which bells at the bottom, might overwhelm a petite woman’s figure. So that style dress would be better for someone who is a little taller.

When you go to the bridal shop, take only a few people with you. The more opinions you get, the more torn you will be when making your decision. Also remember that a down payment, or payment in full will be expected when you place your order. When calculating your wedding dress price, also think about tax, shipping and alteration expenses. And don’t forget to budget for shoes and accessories such as veils, tiaras, and jewelry.

Hanah is a good friend of mine. It’s their 4th wedding anniversary this month and she wanted to take some fun pictures to celebrate. It’s crazy – because they are so in love, you’d think they were newly-weds. But with a 3 year old and a 3 month old at home – they’re on the road to “old married folks.” (like me).

We drove down Ellsworth road and stopped at a nearby field with a metal fence. The sun was bright and lovely. Then we headed to The Queen Creek Olive Mill – such a lovely little spot for a few great photos. On the way we stopped and got on the train tracks down Rittenhouse Rd….more great photos.

Happy Anniversary Hanah & Andrew – Thanks for allowing me to capture your love

Saturday was amazing! Ashley and Casey had such a fabulous wedding reception! It was my first time out to Rustler’s Rooste – but I am totally going back there for date night! Talk about a great time! And the food was amazing! okay sorry, back to the reception….
Ashley and Casey were married on January 18, 2011. Saturday night was there wedding reception. I was honored to be a part of celebrating their lives together.
The reception had a definite Cowboy feel – but with an Irish Twist. The table settings included hearts and clovers. The most lovely (and probably lucky) shade of green adorned the tables and flowers. The PhotoBooth was a hit (as always). DJ  Rankin with AZ Music Man had the best music all night. The guests stayed busy on the dance floor and the party lasted till way after I left.
Too much fun all wrapped up into one great evening. Thank you Lesa – I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of your son’s celebration 🙂

Villa Siena was so amazing Tuesday night! I can’t even begin to describe how fabulous Kiley & Daniel’s wedding reception was. The decorations were fabulous. The food was amazing. It was great seeing some of our favorite vendors out there.
The Photo booth was a big hit. With the reception outside in the courtyard, we set up along one side. Instead of a typical memory album – Kiley’s mom made a memory board for the guests to add their photos and comments to. It was so unique and creative. We loved it!

Too much fun with the Photo Booth
Instead of an album – Kiley’s mom made a custom memory board for the photos.
Fabulous Idea!!!
The memory board filled up in no time
It’s always fun to look at the pictures afterwards.

Photo booths are for smooching!
